GE to supply $120-million in drilling equipment for Brazil

HOUSTON – GE Oil & Gas reports signing two contracts totaling $120 million to supply drilling equipment for use offshore Brazil.

Under one contract GE will provide Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co. Ltd. with a BOP stack and controls for a Petroserv drillship scheduled to work off Brazil. In the second contract, Odebrecht Oil & Gas has contracted for two complete drilling systems including 10,000-ft riser systems and BOP stacks and controls for use on drillships.

GE Oil & Gas manufacturing plants in Houston and Singapore will manufacture the equipment for these orders, with deliveries scheduled between October 2010 and November 2011.
