Chevron taps BJ Services to precommission Gorgon pipeline

Chevron Australia Pty Ltd has awarded a $80-million pipeline precommissioning contract for work on the Gorgon project offshore Western Australia to BJ Services (Australia) Pty Ltd.

ABERDEEN, UK --Chevron Australia Pty Ltd has awarded a $80-million pipeline precommissioning contract for work on the Gorgon project offshore Western Australia to BJ Services (Australia) Pty Ltd.
The Gorgon Project involves development of the Jansz and Gorgon fields 130-200 km (81-124 mi) off the northwest coast of Western Australia. The project consists of subsea facilities, offshore and onshore pipelines, and umbilicals tied back to an LNG processing facility on Barrow Island.
The Chevron-operated project is a joint venture of the Australian subsidiaries of Chevron (approximately 47%), ExxonMobil (25%), Shell (25%), Osaka Gas (1.25%, and Tokyo Gas (one percent) and Chubu Electric (0.417%).
