MOSCOW -- The Dzata-1 well in the Cape Three Points block in the Gulf of Guinea has hit pay, says operator Vanco.
The well encountered a 94-m (308-ft) hydrocarbon column containing 25 m (82 ft) of multi-layer oil and gas pay. The primary reservoir sandstone contains gas and light oil, the company says.
The well has been plugged and temporarily abandoned.
