Offshore staff
United Arab Emirates -- Delta Offshore Rig Logistics Ltd. is refurbishing and reactivating the semisubmersible drilling rig Viner 1. The rig is under tow from Madagascar to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
All of the drilling equipment has been removed from theViner 1 in preparation for refurbishment and reactivation. The semi is suited for use as a drilling platform, production facility, or offshore floating accommodation unit.
The rig is expected to arrive at the UAE yard the first week of January 2007.
Viner 1 is an upgraded version and the last in a series of eight Pentagon semisubmersible rigs currently not committed for either reactivation or drilling.
