HOUSTON – Martin Stauble, vice president, Exploration, North America and Brazil, Shell, discussed the company’s deepwater plans in Brazil and Mexico at OTC.

“Both countries from a deepwater perspective,” Stauble said, “are exciting hubs to pay attention to.”

He said Shell is planning five presalt wells offshore Brazil over the next two years. The first, Alto de Cabo Frio, is expected to spud in September.

The company is targeting December to spud its first deepwater well off Mexico. He added that four to five wells are planned through 2020.
