HOUSTON – BP has ordered subsea wellhead systems from Dril-Quip valued at $25-$35 million. Delivery should start in 4Q and continue into the first half of 2021.

The order comes underDril-Quip’s global agreement with BP for the supply of equipment and services, which was recently extended until 2023.

Dril-Quip President and CEO Blake DeBerry said the extension includes an option for BP to request the newBigBore IIe wellhead system, designed to reduce clients’ equipment spread and rig time.

The system features a 2 million lb high-capacity casing hanger lockdown that is said to eliminate the need for drilling/production lockdown equipment, also reducing the number of trips required into the well.

Recently Repsol agreed to extend until year-end Dril-Quip’s letter of award for top tensioned riser systems and related services for theCa Rong Do project offshore Vietnam.
