OSLO, Norway – Lundin Norway has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate for exploration drilling in the Norwegian North Sea.
The semisubmersibleLeiv Eiriksson will spud well 16/1-31 S in license PL 338, 4 km (2.5 mi) northeast of the Edvard Grieg platform, after completing well 7121/1-2 S in the Barents Sea.
This will be the 11th exploration well on the current license, although others were drilled previously within the license area.
