    CNOOC secures rig for Howick well west of Shetland

    CNOOC Petroleum Europe Ltd. has contracted Island Drilling’s semisubmersible Island Innovator to drill one well on the Howick prospect in block 206/21 west of Shetland.

    SANDSLI, Norway– CNOOC Petroleum Europe Ltd. has contracted Island Drilling’s semisubmersible Island Innovator to drill one well on the Howick prospect in block 206/21 west of Shetland.

    Drilling is scheduled to start in 2Q 2019. Island Drilling Management will be responsible for the operation of theIsland Innovator.

    CNOOC Petroleum Europe Ltd. is the operator of Howick, holding 100% interest.
