The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Det norske oljeselskap consent to drill exploration well 6609/10-2 in the North Sea using the semisub Songa Delta.

OSLO -- The Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has granted Det norske oljeselskap consent to drill exploration well 6609/10-2 in the North Sea using the semisub Songa Delta.

The well is in production license 483S in 265 m (81 ft) of water. Expected start-up of the drilling activity is mid-July. It is estimated to last 35 days.

Songa Delta (formerly Deepsea Delta) is owned by Songa Offshore and is operated by Odfjell Drilling.
