PERTH, Australia -- PTTEP Australasia reports that its second attempt to intercept and stop a leaking well on the Montara field in the Timor Sea has failed. The company now plans to rerun vector magnetics tools to assess the distance from its target zone 2.6 km (1.6 mi) below the seabed.
The company plans another pass to intercept the leaking well this weekend.
