OSLO -- The Beta West prospect in the North Sea has encountered gas and condensate, according to Statoil. The well, drilled by the jackup West Epsilon, found hydrocarbons in Hugin formation sandstone.
The licensees intend to produce the discovery through a tie-back to the nearby Sleipner West. The company estimates resources of 37 to 63 MMboe.
