ZUG, Switzerland -- Transocean’s drillship Discoverer Clear Leader is now operating in the US Gulf of Mexico under a five-year drilling contract for Chevron USA.
The dynamically positioned, double-hulled vessel features dual-activity drilling technology, an enhanced top drive system, an expanded high-pressure mud-pump system, and expanded completions capabilities. The rig can drill wells of up to 40,000 ft (12,192 m) total depth in water depths of up to 12,000 ft (3,658 m).
