OSLO, Norway –Songa Offshore SE expects its Songa Mercur to arrive in Trinidad the middle of this month where it will be prepared to drill offshore Cuba for Zarubezhneft in 4Q 2012.
The rig will remain in Trinidad at a standby rate until the drilling program commences late November 2012.
The $88-million contract is firm for 325 days and may be extended for well testing or other operations, says Songa.
Elsewhere for Songa,Petronas Carigali exercised its option to extend the Songa Venusthrough 3Q 2013. The rig is undergoing an intermediate inspection program before returning to work offshore Malaysia.
