Mærsk reserves novel mud treatment system for North Sea rig

SANDNES, Norway – Cubility has a letter of intent (LOI) from MærskDrilling Norge to install the MudCube smart mud treatment system onboard the jackup Mærsk Giant.

Installation will start this summer, and the rig, which will be operated byTalisman Energy Norge and DONG E&P Norge, respectively, should be ready for operations shortly afterwards.

“Establishing the MudCube on theMærsk Giant brings a safer, more effective, and environmentally sound drilling fluid treatment to the North Sea,” said Cubility CEO Even Gjesdal.

MudCube is designed to deliver an enclosed, integrated cleaning system that replaces conventional versions comprising multiple components. This effectively improves well control and safety, Cubility says, and reduces HSE exposure during drilling operations.
