OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has sanctioned use of the semisub Ocean Vanguard for top-hole drilling in the North Sea.
The consent is connected with Statoil’s 30/9-22Stjerne development, approved by Norway’s parliament (Storting) last September. Stjerne is 13 km (8 mi) southwest of Oseberg Sør.
The rig will drill four top holes on wells 30/9-M-11 H, 30/9-M-12 H, 30/9-M-13 H, and 30/9-M-14 H in 103 m (338 ft) water depth. The activity could start early next month and should last for 25 days.
