Valaris has agreed to sell the VALARIS 247 jackup to BW Energy for about $108 million, with the deal expected to close in the second half of the year.

The 27-year-old rig is currently working offshore Australia.

Valaris also disclosed the award of a five-well contract offshore West Africa from an unnamed client for the drillship VALARIS DS-15, with operations due to start in third-quarter 2026.

Estimated value for the 250-day program is $135 million, including upfront payments for rig upgrades and mobilization, but excluding the provision of additional services.

There are priced options to drill up to five further wells, with an estimated total duration of 80 to 100 days.

Valaris President and CEO Anton Dibowitz said the drillship would be upgraded for the contract with an enhanced managed pressure drilling system.

“We believe this contract reflects the market’s preference for contractors that can deliver complex drilling solutions with high-specification, seventh generation drillships," he said. "In addition, this contract adds to our presence offshore West Africa, where we are well positioned for future contracting opportunities.”
