STAVANGER -- The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Dong E&P Norge AS a drilling permit for well 1/3-11 in the North Sea. The drilling program for wellbore 1/3-11 includes a wildcat well.

The acreage in the production license consists of parts of block 1/3 awarded in 2002 (NST 2001). Wellbore 1/3-11 is the third well that will be drilled in the production license. The well will be drilled from theMærsk Guardian drilling facility. The well is located south of the 1/3-6 discovery which was delimited earlier this year by the wells 1/3-10 S and 1/3-10 A.

The drilling permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities before drilling begins.
