Bentley flow test fulfils goals

BANCHORY, UK -- Xcite Energy has suspended the 9/3b-6z well on the Bentley heavy oil field in the UK North Sea for potential future use as a producer.
Last month, the drilling rig Ocean Nomad completed a flow test on the horizontal well. Xcite claims the flow rates demonstrate that Bentley is commercial, with reservoir properties at the upper end of modeled expectations.
The test operation lasted 36 hours, including clean-up of nine hours, with cumulative production to tote tanks of over 2,000 bbl. Multi-rate flow tests were conducted, with a final stabilized rate of 2,900 b/d of oil.
In addition, Xcite says high quality downhole pressure, temperature, and sample data were safely recovered following a 36 hour shut-in and build-up period following the flow test.
