HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count fell by three to 18 over the past week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of July 22, 2016. That number is down by 13 year-over-year.
The decline in the US GoM rig count also pushed down the overall US offshore drilling rig count, which fell by three to 19. That number is down by 12 year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 15 week-over-week at 462, with oil rigs up by 14 at 371, gas rigs down by one to 88, and miscellaneous rigs up by two.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down by 414 rigs, with oil rigs down by 288, gas rigs down 128, and miscellaneous rigs up by two.
