US Gulf of Mexico rig count falls by two

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has decreased by two to 18 over the past week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of July 1, 2016.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has decreased by two to 18 over the past week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of July 1, 2016. That number is down by 11 compared to last year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count also fell by two to 19, as theoffshore Alaska rig count increased remained steady at one.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 10 week-over-week at 431, with oil rigs down up by 11 at 341, gas rigs down by one to 90, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down 431 rigs, with oil rigs down 299, gas rigs down 130, and miscellaneous rigs down two.
