US Gulf of Mexico rig count falls by one

The US Gulf of Mexico rig count has decreased by one to 20 over last week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 24, 2016.

HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexicorig count has decreased by one to 20 over last week, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of June 24, 2016. That number is down by eight compared to last year.

The overall US offshore drilling rig count remained unchanged at 21 over last week, as the offshore Alaska rig count increased by one,offsetting the decrease in the GoM.

The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was down by three week-over-week at 421, with oil rigs down by seven at 330, gas rigs up four to 90, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.

Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down 438 rigs, with oil rigs down 298, gas rigs down 138, and miscellaneous rigs down two.
