Aker BP gets go-ahead for North Sea appraisal drilling

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Aker BP permission to drill an appraisal well in the North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted Aker BP (ex-BP Norge/Det norske oljeselskap) permission to drill an appraisal well in the North Sea.

The jackupMaersk Interceptor will drill well 25/2-18 B in license PL 442, awarded in June 2007, which covers parts of block 25/2 and block 25/3.

This will be the third well drilled on the license.
