HOUSTON – The US Gulf of Mexico rig count remained unchanged over the week at 22, according to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count of Dec. 9, 2016. That number is down by one year-over-year.
The overall US offshore drilling rig count mirrored the GoM rig count, staying even at 22; and that number was also down by one year-over-year.
The overall US rig count, onshore and offshore, was up by 27 week-over-week at 624, with oil rigs up by 21 to 498, gas rigs up by six to 125, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at one.
Compared to this time last year, the overall US rig count is down by 85 rigs, with oil rigs down by 26, gas rigs down by 60, and miscellaneous rigs up by one.
