OSLO, Norway – Det norske oljeselskap has approval from Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) Norway to drill an exploration well on the Rovarkula prospect in block 25/10 in the Norwegian North Sea.
The jackupMaersk Interceptor will begin the program on well 25/10-15 S next month. Drilling could last 25 days if a discovery follows.
Elsewhere, PSA has authorized Statoil to use the semisubmersibleSonga Encourage for production drilling, completion, workovers, interventions and well plugging at Åsgard and Heidrun in the Norwegian Sea.
Operations should start at Åsgard in mid-July and at Heidrun in mid-December.
In the Barents Sea, PSA has opened investigations after a crew member onboard the Eni-operatedGoliat FPSO was hit by a wire rope, suffering serious injuries.
The incident occurred last weekend during clean-up work following an unloading operation.
The injured person was flown to the University Hospital of North Norway in Tromsø.
