    Scarabeo 5 to work on Njord wells offshore Norway

    Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has authorized use of the semisubmersible Scarabeo 5 for a program of activities on production wells at the Njord field.

    OSLO, Norway – Petroleum Safety Authority Norway has authorized use of the semisubmersible Scarabeo 5 for a program of activities on production wells at the Njord field.

    Statoil operates Njord, an oil field in the Norwegian Sea, 130 km (81 mi) north of Kristiansund in 330 m (1,082 ft) of water.

    The field has been developed using a semisubmersible drilling, accommodation and production platform,Njord A, and the Njord B FSU. Production started in 1997.

    Activities are due to start on Nov. 10.
