VANCOUVER, Canada — Trillion Energy International has issued an update on its 17-well development program on the SASB gas field in the Turkish sector of the Black Sea.
In mid-November the first new well, South Akcakoca, came onstream, and the Akcakoca-3 well is now producing at 3.3 MMcf/d into the gas sales pipeline.
GSP’s Uranus jackup has since been repositioned to drill West Akcakoca-1, the third well of the campaign.
Prior to startup, the borehole for Akcakoca-3 had to be cleared of old wireline through a fishing operation and then cleaned and readied for the re-perforation operation.
After five days, the crew recovered more than 600 kg of lost cable, milled out the old packer and cleared the wellbore. All the lost cable above the packer was recovered, with the old packer pushed down below the deepest perforation interval.
Akcakoca-3 is producing via a 20/64-inch choke and from the upper 7-m gas sands perforated during the initial operation. A further 27 m of net pay will be perforated at a later date in the well, with final production rates adjusted as more gas is brought into the Akcakoca production platform from other wells.
Uranus is now on the northern side of the Akcakoca platform where it will drill and complete the West Akcakoca-1 and Guluc-2 wells. The 17½-inch diameter hole for both wells will be drilled sequentially to save time and cost, as special equipment has to be moved to and from the rig from the shore.
Guluc-2 is a gas pool discovered previously by a vertical well but never put on production. This will be a long reach directional well.
