KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia — Sapura Energy subsidiaries have secured six new offshore oil and gas contracts in the Asia-Pacific and Atlantic regions, with a combined value of RM2.7 billion ($613 million).
The company now expects its drilling business segment to have 11 rigs in operation by year-end 2023.
In Thailand, PTTEP has awarded Sapura Drilling Asia three new long-term contracts for the offshore tender-assist drilling rigs Sapura T-10, Sapura T-11 and Sapura T-12, all due to start in the current quarter. Another new contract is for a drilling campaign off Malaysia.
Offshore Brazil, Sapura’s Energy & Construction business has an EPCI/SURF contract from Enauta Energia for the Atlanta full-field development in the Santos Basin.
The work scope, due to take 33 months to complete, includes provision of a pipelay support vessel; installation of subsea manifolds, subsea pumps, flexibles, jumpers and umbilicals for three new wells; disconnecting the existing early production system; and re-routing existing flexibles and umbilicals to the FPSO Atlanta.
First oil should follow in 2024.
Another award for the Energy & Construction segment is a transportation and installation contract from Hess Exploration and Production Malaysia for the North Malay Basin development.
Here, the scope includes T&I of a 51-km pipeline, three wellhead platforms, two flexible pipelines, and subsea facilities.
