Offshore staff
HOUSTON – VAALCO Energy has completed the Etame 8H-ST development well offshore Gabon, drilled from the Etame field platform.
This was a side track targeting Gamba hydrocarbons not produced by prior wells.
The jackup rig has since relocated to the Avouma platform to spud Avouma 3H-ST, the first of two planned development wells on this platform and designed to target the Gamba interval.
Initial flow rates from Etame 8H-ST were around 5,000 b/d of oil, but have since been choked back to 4,200 b/d for reservoir management reasons.
VAALCO estimates the overall cost of its 2021/2022 drilling campaign at Etame in the range $117-143 million.
