SINGAPORE – The semisubmersible Borgland Dolphin has spudded the Fat Canyon exploration well in the Norwegian Sea for operator PGNiG Upstream Norway.

According to Rex International Holding, majority owner of partner Lime Petroleum, the well is targeting a Jurassic prospect in 241 m (790 ft) of water, 15 km (9.3 mi) south of the Neptune Energy-operated 6406/12-4 S (Boomerang) well, part of the Fenja field.

Drilling should last around 40 days.
