LYNGBY, DenmarkHarbour Energy has contracted Maersk Drilling’s jackup Mærsk Innovator to drill three subsea development wells in block 28/9 in the UK central North Sea.

The nine-month program should get under way in December.

The Mærsk Innovator is a harsh environment CJ70-X150-MD jackup, delivered in 2003 and designed for year-round operations in the North Sea. It has been warm-stacked in Grenaa, Denmark, after ending its previous contract in UK waters in May 2020.

Morten Kelstrup, COO of Maersk Drilling, said: “We believe the Innovator’s high-specification and technical capabilities are an ideal match for this work scope, including the rig’s large deck area, offline capabilities, and capacity for deploying subsea trees.”
