Constellation drillship wins long-term contract offshore Brazil

RIO DE JANEIRO Petrobras has awarded the Constellation Oil Services ultra-deepwater drillship Laguna Star a three-year contract offshore Brazil.

The contract is expected to start in January 2022. It includes integrated services and the use of a managed pressure drilling system.

Built by Samsung Heavy Industries in South Korea, the Laguna Star can drill to 40,000 ft (12,192 m) in 10,000 ft (3,048 m) of water.
