KONGSBERG, Norway – Ocyan has contracted Kongsberg Digital’s SiteCom software to provide real-time drilling data for its rigs operating offshore Brazil.
“Having access to complete, standard data in one system is a prerequisite to digitalize and automate processes in scale,” said Kristian Hernes, svp Digital Wells, Kongsberg Digital.
Ocyan’s rigs will employ Digital’s SiteCom to compile and convert data from different data sources, making standard data available for the company’s main data platform, Ocyan SMART.
In addition to the drilling control system, the rigs are configured to receive marine data, and data from DP and ocean current meter systems. These will all be integrated with third-parties for calculating drilling riser fatigue.
“SiteCom is helping Ocyan to have a reliable and robust system onboard, connected to multiple sources and different protocols, converting data to WITSML standards in order to meet our client’s requirements,” said Rodrigo Chamusca Machado, Ocyan’s technology and innovation manager.
