STAVANGER, Norway Equinor has awarded the Odfjell Drilling semisubmersible Deepsea Stavanger a three-well contract in the North Sea.

The estimated $40-million contract is expected to start in 1Q 2022. The estimated duration is four months. Drilling and other additional services, such as running casing, treatment of wastewater, handling of cuttings, ROV and fuel, are included in the contract.

The Deepsea Stavanger now joins sister units Deepsea Atlantic and Deepsea Aberdeen as being contracted under the master frame agreement which Odfjell Drilling entered with Equinor in May 2018. That contractual framework includes continued optionality mechanisms for the units which can keep the rigs working longer term.

The Deepsea Aberdeen is expected to start its contract on the Breidablikk field in the first half of 2022.
