CNOOC finds more oil in Bozhong Sag offshore China

HONG KONGCNOOC has discovered potentially large volumes of oil and gas in the Bozhong 13-2 structure.

The field is in the southwestern ring of Bozhong Sag in Bohai Bay in a water depth of around 23.2 m (76 ft).

Well BZ13-2-2, completed at a depth of 5,223 m (17,136 ft), intersected oil pay zones with a total thickness of approximately 346 m (1,135 ft), and tested at rates of 1,980 b/d of crude oil and 5.25 MMcf/d of gas.

Zhou Xinhuai, general manager of the company’s Exploration Department, said: “After obtaining the Bozhong 19-6 large-sized condensate gas field, the company has made significant breakthrough in the exploration of another type of buried hill in Bohai...”
