Pacific Khamsin to drill for Petronas offshore Mexico

LUXEMBOURG – Pacific Drilling has issued an update on its deepwater drillship fleet.

Petronas has awarded the Pacific Khamsin a one-well contract offshore Mexico. The day rate is $192,000. It is expected to start in 3Q 2021. The contract includes two priced option wells and two additional option wells at market rates.

On Dec. 31, 2020, the Pacific Santa Ana restarted operations for Petronas offshore Mauritania. The contract is estimated to end in 3Q 2021.

Also, the drilling contractor has smart stacked the Pacific Meltem in Las Palmas.
