OSLO, Norway – ConocoPhillips has permission to use the semisubmersible Leiv Eiriksson for exploration drilling in the Norwegian Sea.
The Petroleum Safety Authority’s approval relates to well 25/7-7 in license 782 S, awarded in February 2015. Other partners are Equinor, Aker BP, and DEA Norge.
This will be the first well on the license, the location being around 17 km (10.6 mi) northwest of the Balder field.
