ABERDEEN, UK – Total has contracted Odfjell Drilling’s sixth-generation semisubmersible Deepsea Stavanger to drill offshore South Africa.
The contract value including compensation for mobilization and demobilization periods is estimated between $145 million and $190 million plus incentives. The company expects the drilling program to take 180-280 days. Mobilization to South Africa is expected to start in 1Q 2020.
Earlier this year, the Deepsea Stavanger concluded operations on Total’s Brulpadda discovery well in block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua basin off South Africa.
