Drilling starts on Orinduik block offshore Guyana

TORONTO – The drillship Stena Forth has spudded the first exploration well on the Jethro-Lobe prospect on the Tullow-operated Orinduik block offshore Guyana.

According to partner Eco (Atlantic) Oil & Gas, the well will test the Lower Tertiary aged turbidites, also drilling down into the Cretaceous, and is expected to take up to 40 days to complete.

It will be followed immediately by an exploration well on the Joe prospect.
