ABERDEEN, UK — RAM Tubulars has opened a new 16-acre decommissioning and metal recycling complex at Birchwood, eastern Scotland.
The facility, said to be the only one of its kind in the UK, is designed to process more than 130,000 metric tons per year of waste.
Onsite equipment includes an industrial weighbridge, pipe washing system and storage area, and a heavy reinforced impermeable concrete yard with a closed loop drainage system.
RAM Tubulars NORM handling permit allows for its radiation protection supervisors to handle hazardous and contaminated materials.
