Shell UK and Equinor UK have agreed to combine their UK offshore oil and gas interests to form a new company. The incorporated joint venture (JV), based in Aberdeen, will be the UK’s largest independent offshore oil and gas producer, they claim, with each company owning a 50% share. Read more.

Seatrium Letourneau USA has entered a memorandum of understanding with Cochin Shipyard to jointly design and supply equipment for jackup rigs to the Indian market. Read more.

ABL Group entered into an agreement Dec. 5 to acquire 100% of the shares in Brazil-based Proper Marine, a naval architecture and engineering consultancy, which will be merged with ABL Group’s design and engineering arm, Longitude. The acquisition will expand the ABL's technical center of excellence in design and engineering for maritime and offshore energy construction and operations. Read more.

ABL also expanded its global presence Nov. 19 with a new office in New Zealand to support the country’s maritime and offshore energy markets. The office will be led by Morwenna Vye.

Baker Hughes has opened its new liquid mud plant, cement bulk and integrated multi-modal complex in Namibia. Read more.

Inyanga Marine Energy Group has set up a new office in Canada to help drive the development of offshore renewable energy in the country, the company announced Dec. 3. The new company, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, will provide marine engineering and offshore operations support to the marine renewable energy industry in Canada, across both the offshore wind and tidal energy sectors.

Sulzer opened a new service center Dec. 5 in Al Ahmadi, Kuwait, to provide 24/7 engineering services for all brands of pumps and rotating equipment. The center supports more than 1,500 Sulzer pumps already installed in local plants across Kuwait, while further servicing pumps from other brands. 

Kobelco Compressors America Inc. (KCA) broke ground on the expansion of its Houston Service Shop on Nov. 1. The 33,000-sq-ft addition will feature enhanced infrastructure, including six compressor overhaul stations, two drive-through loading bays, an extruder overhaul station, and specialized areas for hydro blasting, non-destructive testing, and painting. 

OEG Energy Group Ltd. has moved into a new global headquarters at The Stratus Building, ABZ Business Park in Dyce, Aberdeen, following a seven-figure sum investment in a multi-year lease, according to a Dec. 3 company announcement. OEG also reported 300 new hires across its global business in the last 12 months.

Fulkrum, a specialist in inspection, expediting, auditing and technical staffing services, has launched its new entity in Iraq. The new entity, registered in Basra, enhances Fulkrum’s presence in Iraq and strengthens its ability to bid for and secure large-scale contracts, according to a Dec. 2 company news release.

Vallourec, a tubular solutions provider, entered into an agreement Nov. 25 to sell its c. 99% participation in PT CPPI and PT SCN (“Logistics Group”) to CKB Logistics, a subsidiary of ABM Investama Tbk, for about €20 million ($21.1 million), of which €2.9 million ($3 million) will be paid via an earn-out.

Petronas signed a memorandum of understanding last month with China National Petroleum Corp. at the CNPC International Cooperation Forum to collaborate in upstream exploration and production of oil and gas internationally, and throughout the LNG value chain. Read more.

DUG Technology (DUG) has formed a partnership with energy consultancy PetroVision offering seismic data processing services in Nigeria. Read more.
