Turkey announces $30-billion Black Sea discovery
Earlier this year, Turkey has made what is being called a “significant” discovery of a natural gas in the Black Sea, valued at approximately $30 billion.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the new field, discovered by the Goktepe-3 well, contains 75 Bcm of gas, enough to meet the residential needs of the country for about 3.5 years.
The Goktepe-3 well is located some 69 km from Turkey’s Sakarya gas field.
