NOTTINGHAM, UK --TSC Simulation has supplied the PPS Group with simulation software for training operators on a generic model of a 154,000 metric tonne (169,755 ton) FPSO. TCS has provided a dynamic simulation model to instruct operators on correct use of the facility, safety, and emergency procedures.

The generic FPSO's production facilities include processing, cleaning and re-injection of gas and water, and chemical treatment. It also features two gas/oil separation trains designed to handle up to 154,000 b/d of oil. Produced gas is re-compressed and re-injected into the reservoir, while the hydrocyclones treat produced water to below 25 ppm of oil.

TSC recently has provided training simulators for three BP-operated oil and gas sites in Azerbaijan, and has also conducted verification modeling and feasibility studies for Amec in the UK.
