LYSAKER, NorwayEquinor has asked Kongsberg Digital to reconstruct life-cycle simulators for the Sleipner Field in the Norwegian North Sea through applying K-Spice and LedaFlow simulation technologies.

The agreement has an estimated value of more than NOK25 million ($2.39 million).

Kongsberg Digital will develop an engineering study simulator, an engineering test simulator and an operator training simulator for Sleipner’s multi-discplinary operation and engineering teams.

These will model the processes of all wells, pipelines and offshore production facilities for the three offshore installations, comprising a processing, drilling and living quarter platform (A), an unmanned production platform (B), and a processing and CO2 removal platform (T).

In addition, the company will model the power grid using a K-Spice Grid.

Work should be completed by the end of next year. Deliverables will include a dynamic simulator model incorporating topside process simulation models, using K-Spice and multiphase flow models of production wells and flowlines supported by LedaFlow software.
