Noble gets final clearance for acquisition of Diamond Offshore Drilling

The transaction should now close Wednesday, Sept. 4.

Noble Corp. and Diamond Offshore Drilling received clearance Aug. 30 from the Australia Competition & Consumer Commission for their pending merger.

This was the final required regulatory approval for the transaction, which should now close Wednesday, Sept. 4.

The merger will transform Noble into the world’s fourth largest drilling contractor in terms of the size of its overall fleet.
