Callon seeks Entrada partner

Callon Petroleum Co. has initiated a search for a partner in the Entrada field development in the Gulf of Mexico.

NATCHEZ, Mississippi -- Callon Petroleum Co. has initiated a search for a partner in the Entrada field development in the Gulf of Mexico. Callon currently is 100% owner and operator of Entrada in Garden Banks blocks 738, 782, 785, 826, and 827.

Two discovery wells and seven delineation wells have been drilled on the field to-date. Callon estimates proved reserves in the range of 17.5 MMbbl of oil and 87.1 bcf of gas. Associated probable reserves are estimated at 17.6 MMbbl of oil and 42.2 bcf of gas.

"We are excited about beginning the search to find the right partner to participate with us in the Entrada field development and feel that now is the time to begin this process with our target of initial production by the first quarter 2009," says Fred Callon, chairman and CEO of Callon Petroleum.
