AWE, Prosafe fined for New Zealand Tui spill

AWE and Prosafe Production each have been fined $32,918 by New Zealand’s District Court following court proceedings relating to an accidental oil discharge off the Taranaki coast in October 2007.

WELLINGTON, New Zealand -- AWE and Prosafe Production each have been fined $32,918 by New Zealand’s District Court following court proceedings relating to an accidental oil discharge off the Taranaki coast in October 2007.

The discharge came from the FPSO Umuroa, which processes oil from the Tui oil fields.
