MMS Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 210 opens on Aug. 19

The Minerals Management Service plans to open its Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 210 in New Orleans on Aug. 19.

NEW ORLEANS --The Minerals Management Service plans to open its Western Gulf of Mexico Lease Sale 210 in New Orleans on Aug. 19. The sale encompasses 3,435 unleased blocks covering approximately 18.4 million acres in the Western GoM outer continental shelf planning area offshore Texas. The blocks are in Federal waters 9 to 250 mi (14 to 402 km) offshore in water depths of 16 ft to 10,978 ft (5 m to 3,346 m).

MMS estimates the lease sale could result in the production of 242 to 423 MMbbl of oil and 1.64 to 2.64 tcf of natural gas.
