HOUSTON -- Cameron and Aker Solutions have signed a marketing and technology alliance agreement for the worldwide supply of subsea drilling systems packages for newbuild rigs.

Under the agreement, customers have an option for a complete turnkey package for Cameron and Aker Solutions' subsea drilling systems. Cameron will supply all of the equipment used for oil and gas pressure control including blowout preventers, surface and subsea controls, gate valves, chokes and manifolds. Aker Solutions will supply derrick masts, substructures, skidding equipment, iron rough necks, pipe handing equipment, drawworks, and equipment to be used in the drilling operations including top drives, tensioners, and motion compensators.

"This agreement will simplify the process of new rig construction and create a one-stop-shop where customers can specify complete packages from a single source," says Harold Conway, president of Drilling Systems for Cameron's Drilling and Production Systems group.
