Bibby Offshore expands into Houston, secures first contract in the region

ABERDEEN, UK – Subsea installation contractor Bibby Offshore has opened a new division and international base in Houston, Texas. The company, which also has bases in Aberdeen, Liverpool, Singapore and Trinidad, has invested over £3 million (US$4.8 million) into the new division, Bibby Subsea Inc.
As part of the expansion plan, Andrew Duncan, business and commercial director at the company’s Aberdeen headquarters, will relocate to Houston to become president and managing director of Bibby Subsea.
The new division has secured its first contract, mobilizing an SMD Quasar work-class remotely operated vehicle on Cal Dive International’s support vessel,Mystic Viking. The contract, valued at £600,000 (US$969,900), is for a pipeline touchdown monitoring project in Mexico with an estimated two-month duration.
