AL KHOBAR, Saudi Arabia  Contracting group Nesma & Partners has agreed to acquire Kent, with the deal set to complete by the end of this year, subject to regulatory approvals.

Kent is a privately owned engineering and project management provider that has been supported by global energy investment company Bluewater since 2015. In mid-2021, Kent acquired SNC-Lavalin’s oil and gas business and currently supports sectors including offshore oil and gas and renewable energy, its clients including various NOCs.

Nesma & Partners, which has operated for more than 40 years, provides services to Saudi Arabia’s industrial, energy, civil and buildings, and infrastructure sectors. With Kent, it plans to develop solutions for clients across the full project life cycle, from consulting to design, build, commissioning, startup and maintenance through decommissioning.

In June 2022, Nesma & Partners and Kent formed the joint venture NesmaKent, with a view to developing an engineering center of excellence in Saudi Arabia offering new capabilities in engineering, procurement and construction services related to carbon capture, blue hydrogen and blue ammonia technologies. These include visualization, data integration, asset management, digital twin, analytics and artificial intelligence, cyber resilience, and low carbon technologies.

Kent’s present leadership team will remain in place.
